This property is situated in the upper part of a village, encompassed by magnificent mountain nature. Gabrovo, the regional centre town, is 40 km away and the village itself is quite well developed, with three food shops, cozy taverns and delightful restaurants, giving excellent opportunities for the development of rural and eco tourism. The charming little town of Apriltzi is 12 km away too and another beautiful town – Sevlievo – is 27 km away. There are plenty of things to be seen and done in the area. You can visit the Etar Architectural-Ethnographic Complex, 9 km from the town of Gabrovo on the banks of the Sivek, a tributary of the Yantra. A reconstructed bazaar forms the heart of this museum-village. Throughout much of the day artisans are at work here, hammering bells, throwing pots, sewing braid and sheepskin jackets etc, and it’s possible for visitors to sign up for crafts courses which impart the rudiments of copper-working, rug-weaving, pottery, tailoring, flute-making, forging and wood-turning. Even if your interest in crafts is minimal, it’s difficult not to admire the interiors of the old houses, which achieve great beauty through the skillful use of simple materials. Besides dwellings and workshops, the bazaar includes a bakery whence people emerge clutching fresh simiti (glazed buns made of chick-pea flour). Another section contains a water-mill and hydro-powered workshops for cutting timber, pulling cloth, and making braid, wine flagons and round wooden boxes; the third section shows village life, traditional costumes and customs.
