Interesting town in the area is Targovishte - an important craft and educational settlement in the past and an administrative centre nowadays. There are more than 30 buildings of interesting architecture in the old Renaissance quarter called 'Varosha'.
   8 km. from the town of Targovishte there is a curative mineral spring - a premise for development of spa tourism.
   The bio diversity of the region has been preserved in the reserve of Patleina. There is situated Patleina monastery - a centre of production of the famous Preslav ceramics.
   The dams of Ticha and Yastrebino offer excellent conditions for fishing.
