The Palace Complex consists of the central palace building along with a high tower, a many-terraced park, summer-houses made of stone, etc. A throne situated under an old tree in the complex is known as Queen Maria’s favorite place for having rest. The picturesque park is arranged in 1924-1936 over the project of the French garden designer Jules Janine. It comprises more than 200 tree species, numerous kinds of flowers, as well as unique collection of more than 250 species of cactus plants. Apart of the palace complex and the botanical garden Balchik became an attractive holiday destination because of its ancient atmosphere that has been preserved for centuries.
Thanks to the rare combination of beautiful nature, friendly weather conditions, and interesting historical monuments, the region around Balchik becomes an attractive site for the golf lovers in Bulgaria. Two new golf courses will be built around Balchik. One of them is situated right between the towns of Balchik and Kavarna, on a plateau overlooking the sea. The second one is being developed along the coastline, near the sea, below the villages of Bozhurets and Topola. The golf course near Balchik will cover total area of 1 000 hectares. It will offer 18 holes and will correspond to the highest international golf standards. Golfers will enjoy the beautiful view towards the sea and the Kaliakra Cape. The construction works already started as the whole complex supposed to be completed in May 2007, when the official opening will take place.
              The Touzlata Locality is set up as near as 4 km. to the town of Balchik, right next to the beach itself. It is noted as mud-curing and spa resort, but also boasts a “golden” sand beach stripe and comfortable for swimming small bays.
