When you have obtained the visa to start designing, you will need permits from the Hygiene Inspectorate, Fire Hazards Office, State Veterinary and Sanitary Control Office, as well as from the Water Supply Utilities, and also permits for levelling, tacheometrical survey, for building, etc. You might not need certain permits for certain building works. All permits can be obtained by your architects who will cater for the architectural design as well.

You will have to seek approval from a number of offices such as:
-The Environment Office which issues permits for buildings which require preparation of an appraisal of the impacts on the environment.
-The Hygiene Inspectorate for a hygiene appraisal.
-The Fire Department for an appraisal against fire hazards.
-The Standards and Metrology Committee for an appraisal of the level of safety of any hazardous equipment to be erected
-Any other Government Bodies which are authorized to issue permits for certain projects.
- The specialized office of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works for an appraisal in areas endangered by landslides.
Depending on the particular type, purpose and location of the building works, you might need to seek approval to use water for drinking, production or against fire; to discharge waste water, to use electricity, telephone lines, central heating, gas supplies, to build by-roads or by-railways, etc.
The projects are reviewed by the Commission for Architecture and with one or two-storey buildings with a total area of up to 300m2 this review can be made by the municipal technical office.

In case projects do not comply with the laws, regulations, and provisions, they have to be remade and then filed again for review. The period of time for approval of projects is within one month from date of filing, and, in case of rejection, it will not include the time necessary for the remake to be effected. If the reviewers reject a project, the investor will be advised within 7 days after the review period has expired. Each rejection must be justified with reference to  lays and regulations. Both approved projects and rejections can be appealed against before the National Building Control Directorate within a period of 14 days from the advice about their issuance. All parts of the approved project must be sealed.
