Elena is the second municipality in Bulgaria that will get three ISO (International Standard Organization) certificates together at the same time and it will be not only a positive evaluation of the working system, but also an extremely responsible engagement for all attendants in the town council for continuous development and improvement of the Integrated Control System processes. The motivation of the councillors for personal contribution for the process of maintenance of the system will continue in this direction. Evaluation of the engagements will be made in 2009 by the organization that gives the certificates- “Moody International”. The process of installing an integrated control system started in April this year.It is conformable with the requirements of the standards: ISO 9001:2000 “Quality management systems”, ISO 14001:2004 “Environmental management systems”, and OHSAS 18001:2002 „Healthy and safe working conditions system. According to the requirements of the standards, a stage of certification audit was organised.The evaluation of the certifying company is that the municipality of Elena has worked the system out, documented and adopted it. The mayor has officially stated his management politics.It is directed to meet the needs of the parties concerned. Main points in this plan are:
- Making the municipality a well-developed agricultural, industrial and tourist centre with a national and international importance, with preserved cultural, historic and natural sights of the town.
- Improving the quality of the administrative work and people’s life.
- Preservation of the environment and keeping the ecological balance.
- High standard of healthy and safe conditions of work
- Etc.
