The town of Topolovgrad lies in Southeastern Bulgaria. The biggest tourist landmarks in the area are the so-called Dolmens, spread all over the region. These Thracian monuments are not only one-chambered, but also two and three-chambered. One of the biggest monasteries in Bulgaria- “Sveta Troitsa” is situated near Topolvgrad. Main priorities for the municipality ate development of tourism in all its forms, suitable for the region and creating of modern intensive agriculture. It is expected to be built an exchange for fruits and vegetables on the territory of the municipal center, which will be a branch of the exchange in Haskovo. Important factors for the development of the tourism in the region are its good geographical characteristics- Sakar Mountain, Tundja River and its feeders and the rich historic and cultural heritage of the region – Paleokastro Peak, the Dolmens, “Sveta Troitsa” Monastery. There are also wonderful prerequisites for development of hunting and alternative tourism in the municipality. The future construction of “Hancheto” artificial lake will contribute to development of water tourism and sports. Other priorities of the municipality are construction of better technical and social infrastructure, development of local economy, entrepreneurship and stimulating of the private business. The development of the transborder collaboration of Toplovgrad is motivated by many aims: opening of the national space, stimulating the economic development by creating transborder network for economic collaboration for opening new work positions, improvement of the agricultural production and stimulation of the transborder exchange of agricultural goods and many others. Tervel is a very attractive place for Greek and Turkish investors. There is also interest in investment in real estates on behalf of other foreign investors. The region is perspective and very advantageous.
