The nature in the Sevlievo Region possesses all kinds of natural riches which are characteristic for Bulgaria. The fact that there is no sea in the area is compensated by the so called “small sea” – “Aleksandyr Stamboliiski”dam. With its length of 18 km it offers opportunities for yachting, rowing and water-motor sports, fishing and swimming. But this is just one feature of the palette of the big resource situated on an area of 70 km on the basis north-south and a little more than 40 km on the basis east-west.
Hilly plain, which starts from the north part of the Sevlievo field, is part of the Danube plain. The popular “Gamza” trellis-vine grows here. Some of the best wines are produced from it. The wine-cellar “Vinenka” is situated in the village of Kramolin. Its visitors can taste fresh and mature wine, as well as grape brandy. There is great variety of appetizer in addition.
The rivers Risitsa and Vidima, which fuse right above Sevlievo, are rich in different kinds of fish. The fans of the sporting fishing from the whole region can find here place for relaxation and many emotions.
The high Balkan Range, where a part of the National park “Central Balkan” is situated, is one huge bio-reserve. The flora and fauna are represented by great diversity of trees, bushes, grass, herbs, insects, birds and mammals. Some of them are written in the Red Book for preserved species. It is not an exception when people, who are fond of eco tourism, meet roes and red deer, and even rarely the master of the woods – the brown bear.
Valleys such as the Sevlievo Valley offer good opportunities for agriculture. Black coal, marble, limestone and clay are the region's main natural resources. The climate is moderately continental with frequent temperature inversions in the valleys. The major rivers cutting across the region are the Yantra, Rossitsa, Vidima and Dryanovska.
