84 properties have been bought by foreigners in a village near Balchik called Sokolovo, as two thirds of the new owners are Englishmen. This was announced by the mayor of the village – Marcho Mitev.
All the bought plots of land are already put in regulation. In the beginning the plots have been on sale for 15 Euros per sq.m., while now there are plots of land at the price of 100 000 Euros, but there were no vacant places any more. The interest towards the village is huge because of its close proximity to Balchik and the sea, as well as its proximity to one of the two new golf course which are under construction, said the Mayor. There are 10 English families which are already permanently living in the village.
More and more Bulgarian and foreign investors are interested in the region of Balchik. Prices of properties are expected to continue to go up in price. The new projects rise the standard of the area to a great extend and the interest is constantly growing.
There are two golf courses under construction in the area.
The first golf course is on a terrain of 1 000 000 sq.m. in an area called “Tabiata” near Balchik. The project includes the construction not only of a golf course, but tennis courts, horse-riding base, fitness centres, and other sports facilities as well. The complex will include also a lighthouse with a terrace with panoramic view and other attractions as well.
In the first stage of the construction the coplex will dispose of 160 houses and a hotel base with a capacity of 1660 beds. The project expects until 2020 the number of the beds to grow up to 2600. A purifying water station will be built. The purified water will be used for the irrigation of the green areas.
56 million Euros will be invested in the second golf complex which in the year 2008 will host players and solvent tourists. In a few years time there will be international competitions held there, is the opinion of the leading golf professional Yan Usnam. The complex will include five living complexes with a shopping centre, a SPA centre, a horse-riding base and training court. The course is projected by Yan Usnam with the support of European Golf design. They are negotiating with a few English corporations who would like to obtain part of the ownership, announced the manager of the project “Baraj and Co”.
The climate in the area is suitable for 10 months golf season, and the neighbourhood with similar complexes will help to attract more golf players.
