Strategically priority for the Municipality of Kazanlak is the gasification of Kazanlak town. The total value of the investment is 35 million levas.The gas pipeline deviations begins at point Kalitinovo to Kazanlak, the distance is 44 km. The project will be executed by " Bulgargas".The execution of the construction work will be performed by the Italian company " Rimini gas" which won the competition and got the licence for these activities in the region. The investment amounts to 35 million levas approximately.  Parallel a project is being elaborated for the reconstruction of the power station-Kazanlak, for changing the fuel from mazut to gas, the term of the project is 2 years.
The municipality of Kazanlak is situated in the central part of Republic Bulgaria. It is located at the foot of Stara planina in the Kazanlak hollow, which is part of the Rose valley, well known with its beauty and fruitfulness. Its territory is 634.626 km or 12.3% from the territory of Stara Zagora district.
The natural - geographic situation of the municipality is favorable from the point of view of the future potential for development.A considerable natural wealth of the territory of the municipality with strategic importance  are the climate  and soil resources as well as the availability of surface water and potential underground waters in the flooded river terraces, the alluvial lowlands.
The municipal centre Kazanlak, with its economic, transport, communicative, managing, scientific, cultural and educational, sanitary and other resources exerts influence not only on the dynamism and the development of the municipality, but also exercises a great influence on the development of the whole region and the Southern Central part for planning.
Kazanlak is situated in the centre of Bulgaria between the Balkan Range and Sredna Gora Mountain, 194 km to the east of Sofia and 185 km to the west of Burgas.Kazanlak is an important crossroad. Here is the crossing of the roads Sofia - Burgas, Stara Zagora - Veliko Tarnovo.
The Kazanlak plain is a part of the Rose Valley-one of the sub-Balkan plains adjacent in the west to the Karlovo valley, in the east-the Sliven valley.
The intensifying and perfection of the inter-municipal collaboration and contacts will develop in the directions of the principal transport ways, among which the most important is the crossing of the first class roads Sofia-Burgas and Stara Zagora-Gabrovo.This important crossroad function is a premise for strengthening of the collaboration with two municipalities (Stara Zagora and Maglish), with which Kazanlak has formed an area of growth.
