The town of Petrich has population of 33000 people and unites 53 villages and 62000 people population. The total area of 650 000 000 sq.m. makes the Municipality of Pernik the biggest municipality in south-western Bulgaria. Its territory is crossed by the main road Sofia-Kulata-Greece, and another important road as well – Petrich – Zlatarevo - Macedonia. The two customs activate the international commerce and develop the local infrastructure.
The industry in Petrich manufactures products for the native market and exports mainly in Europe. The industrial enterprises are in process of modernization and co-operation with western Companies, which will contribute to the higher effectiveness and the better quality of the products.
