Pamporovo, known as the pearl of the Rhodope Mountain, is the biggest ski center in Bulgaria - the length of the ski tracks there is 34 km., there are 5 lifts and 10 ski trails. The resort provides perfect conditions for winter and summer vacations in a delightful mountain atmosphere, magnificent forests and great many opportunities for entertainment.
The tourism in Parporovo was introduced to tourist companies and media in Netherlands on the presentation of the first brochure of that kind for Bulgaria.The brochure is in Dutch. The embassy of Bulgaria in Netherlands, the bureau for commercial and economic relations in Hague and Bulgarian Tourist Information Center organised the event.
Pamporovo is included in catalogues of more than 30 of the biggest Dutch tourist companies.They offer all kinds of tourist products – mountain and skiing tourism, cultural, rural and Eco tourism.
The Dutch are one of the most travelling nations in the world. Statistics shows that they travel abroad two or three times a year. In 2005 Bulgaria was visited by 48 450 Dutch tourists which is with 47.63 % more than in 2004.
The ski tracks of Pamporovo have all degrees of difficulty. The lifts and the rope- lines have capacity of 8500 people per hour. The ski academy in Pamporovo is one of the best in Europe. Highly qualified instructors teach the beginners individually or in-groups. There are steep tracks for the experienced skiers such as special tracks and a rifle-range for the fans of the biathlon and ski sprint. Among the unique spots for relaxation is the panoramic bar, located in the tower of the summit Snejanka (2030 m above sea level).
