The mayor Naiden Zelenogorski was invited by the U.S.A. Embassy to take part in Infrastructure projects presentation of the Trade and Commerce American Agency. The Agency has shown an interest towards Pleven because the certificate “Municipality ready for business development” awarded by the Foundation for Local Government Reform and International City Managers Association Washington U.S.A  for 2004.
During the meeting, programs and principles of work of the Agency was presented. Through the Agency the U.S.A. Government finance up to 500 000 USD pre projects surveys about projects in the sphere of infrastructure in the amount of minimum 10 000 000 USD.
Pleven Municipality has presented 5 infrastructural projects for possible funding from the Agency :
1. Organization of the city traffic and construction and management of park places in Pleven
2. Optimization of the Pleven’s General Communication and Transport Plan
3. Rehabilitation of the buildings of the schools, kindergartens, daycares and other public buildings
4. City rehabilitation and renovation of the water and  sewerage pipe network
5. Construction of automated systems for transport flows management on traffic lights regulated crossroads in Pleven.
The U.S.A Ambassador H.E. John Barley also has taken part in the meeting and Mayor Zelenogorski has invited him to visit Pleven.
