Nova Zagora is a town in Southeast Bulgaria. The town was established with the establishing of Bulgaria, but its zenith was 300 years later. The history of Nova Zagora is rich and the town kept itself through the years as a small but beautiful and public-spirited town.
The municipalities of Nova Zagora and Sliven submitted to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works a plan, which suggests to work out 18 projects, which comes to the amount of 18 718 thousand euro.This projects concern the number one priority in this municipalities – “Reconstruction and Development” of the region, which is a part of the Regional development Project. The purpose of the two municipalities is that it should have certain offers, which can meet the requirements of European Union. In that way they will be able to apply for subsidies for periods after 1th Jan 2007.
The common aim of the Operative Programme for Regional Development 2007-2013 is improving the quality of environment and work by better access and new opportunities for higher regional competitiveness and stable development.
The functioning of the Operative Programme for Regional Development will be realized by four priorities:
1. Town Reconstruction and development.
2. Local and Regional transport and communication relations.
3. Stable development of tourism.
4. Encouragement of regional and local development.
Bulgaria’s forthcoming European Union membership creates a lot of possibilities for profitable investments. Bulgaria tries to create the best conditions for further development and high living standard.
