We proudly present to you a town popular among the Bulgarian mountain and ski property-oriented buyers for its fantastic location and breathtaking views. It is ideal for practicing all sorts of winter sports and it offers plenty of opportunities for a significant return on the land investment or property purchase, by renting them out through the services of a serious property management agency in Bulgaria.
The town of Klissura (1 800 inhabitants) is located 107 km Еast of the city of Sofia, 35 km West-Northwest of the district center Karlovo and just 25 km North-East of the Revival town-museum of Koprivshtitsa – one of the most precious pearls in the national cultural treasury of Bulgaria.
Klissura will always have a very significant place in the Bulgarian history with the heroic deed of the local people during the April Uprising, which paved the way of Bulgaria to its Liberation after five centuries of Turkish yoke, with the legendary image of Borimechkata (the bear fighter), whose monument rises even today at the town’s entrance, with the famous cherry cannons – symbol of the artillery of Klissura. The ruins of the “St. Nicolas the Miraculous  Church still remind of the immortal 20th  of April 1876 and the original bell, which proclaimed the rebellion of the people of Klissura against the enslavers, is the greatest treasure kept in the Town’s Historical museum. The museum is also proud to present the authentic cherry cannon, whose replicas are on sale as a souvenir. Other precious relics from the past are the Pavurdjievata House where the local revolutionary committee was established and the Kozinarovata House,  which gave five beloved victims in the battle for Bulgarian Liberty. Each year on 30 April the residents of Klissura honor the memory of the heroes who perished in the Uprising and May 1 is proclaimed a holiday of the town and is marked by a reconstruction of the events from 1876. Here you can hear the song “Those wretched residents of Klissura” – an anthem of the town.
The first restored building in town after the burning of Klissura was the Chervenakovata house – a typical model of the Revival architecture in Klissura, which was transformed into an Ethnographic Museum with an authentic store from that time. The only Museum of  Potatoes is housed there. Annually, at the end of October the building hosts the original local festival of the potatoes – the greatest attraction of Klissura after the traditional for the 1 May “live picture” of the April Uprising. The Kozinarovata and Pavurdjievata houses are not only of historical but also of ethnographic value. A modest ethnographic exposition reflecting the way of life of the Bulgarian women from the 19th century is arranged in the Kozinarovata house. It presents a work room furnished in the typical for that time style. The Pavurdjievata house fascinates with its exquisite murals and the old rose distillery once used for the production of the finest rose oil in this part of the Rose Valley, which has survived the burning of the town of Klissura.
Besides the house museums, we should not forget to mention that the town has many offers, which undoubtedly will attract the attention of buyers oriented towards exquisite rural properties for sale in Bulgaria, traditional Bulgarian properties for sale, namely Bulgarian rural houses for sale, as well as cheap land plots for sale in Bulgaria.
Hidden away from the looks of the passers-by and representing a real Revival oasis, is the complex of nine Koprivshtitsa twin houses, a restaurant and a bar, original barbecue with an ancient furnace, open-air sports complex with a tennis court, volleyball playground and two swimming pools, motor service station and breakdown service. This place offers excellent opportunities for camping. Here you will enjoy a traditional reception with a cherry cannon salutation, sampling of tasty potato meals, and folklore treats.
The bike ride along the streets of the town of Klissura, the ride to the town of Koprivshtitsa, the forest picnic in the mountain, the horseback riding and the hiking excursions with a professional mountain guide from National park “Central Balkan” are the greatest attractions of the area.
One of the local offices of the department of National Park “Central Balkan” in Klissura is a main starting point for the best part of the western half of the Park. The well marked mountain trek to hut Vejen, which crosses the mountain ridge is one of the most convenient routes for conquering the third highest mountain peak – Vejen (2 198 m), also a starting point for Natural reserve “Tsarichina” and the resort village of Ribaritsa at the northern foot of the Stara Planina Mountain.
As you can see from the representation above, the town of Klisura provides unique opportunities to the people interested in buying properties in Bulgaria, ski properties in Bulgaria or Bulgarian mountain property for sale in particular. Its location among the mountain slopes with magnificent breathtaking views, the closeness to the capital of Bulgaria, and at the same time being actually in the calm and peaceful countryside are among its best features. Other characteristic features of this town are the abundance of cheap Bulgarian properties, land for sale in Bulgaria, or rural houses for sale in Bulgaria, which make this town and its surrounding area very attractive for the people looking to make a profitable land investment in Bulgaria.  A town, which has a lot to offer: beautiful, unspoiled nature, interesting history and sightseeing spots, friendly and cordial local people, who will help feel comfortable among them from the first day of your life there.
